Some suggestions for 5e

http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/dd-survey-march-2016

I REALLY want Shifters (PHB2 4E) as a race option, though some of their features seem to mirror with totem Barbarians (and were- creatures).

All current races feel good in terms of options. That said there aren't any race choices for +2 to wisdom.

Cleric NEEDS a neutral aligned Death domain option that isn't evil themed.

I miss the style of Barbarian from 4e where getting hit gave you benefits.

Ranger needs something, like the spirit animal option maybe. Beastmaster's beast can die too easily, and with its death so too goes the subclass's perks. It would also be nice to have mount sized (large) beast companions. Maybe a feat for companion animals that improves both the summon familiar spell and adds

Sorcerer could maybe use 1 more option but i like the current dragon/wild/storm options.

Warlock and Monk are pretty much perfect, especially with the addition of Sun Soul and Long Death Monk.

Paladin and Fighter feel comprehensive.

Current amount of character classes are good and variety can be better expanded or customized with more feats and options.

Sanguine's story

I stared into it. A being so immense and indescribable it seems foolish to try, and kind of painful to recall. I remember tendrils of a sort, and a form so amorphous you didn't know wether it was coming or going. It seemed to fold and cascade into itself, and it resonated with dark beguiling energy. I felt sickened, mentally and physically, beholding its unfathomability. I would have tucked tail and run if i wasn't weightless, floating about in an alternate plane of existence.

It was worse though when it stopped its private morphic ballet, because I knew then that it had seen me. Or sensed, no idea whether it had eyes or not, but i got the distinct impression it knew i was there.

I was transfixed, unable to pull my gaze away. Tried to, couldn't. Attempted counting the stars surrounding the Old One to pull my gaze. It seemed to reach out a million little drow hands at its circumference and snuff out the stars like candles. And it got closer and closer. I suppose like a child with a spy glass observing an ant, wondering wether to burn it or not.

A smarter tiefling would have shat himself. A smarter tiefling wouldn't have ended up somewhere deep in the astral plane in the first place. A smarter tiefling wouldn't have snuck into the forbidden section of the headmaster's library looking for hidden lore on shortcuts to ancient power. A smarter tiefling would have just put horns to page and studied wizardry like his father wanted him to. But, what I lacked in smarts, i make up in gall... and ambition.

"Well if i'm going to die," I mused floating about, "I might as well give them something groovy to put on my headstone." Not that anyone could hear me anyway. In the astral plane, noone can hear you scream "REVEAL YOUR SECRETS UNTO ME, MASTER!"

Well, noone other than an incomprehensible Elder One staring me right in the face. It heard, and it comprehended. And what's better... it delivered. One tentacle lead to another. It chew me up and spat me out back home. Didn't even catch it's name.

Don't judge me. Faced with the prospect of ultimate power or having your mind melted which would you choose? And have you seen my race? We're no Celestials. Tieflings walk around with the literal "sins of our fathers" infused in our form; and we're constantly accused of being Asmodeus's minions in the making. What's the fun of being innocent when they're going to throw mud either way?

My thirst for TRUE knowledge brought me this far. I've been to the mountain top, seen the other side, and leaped out to greet whatever comes. Will i go splat, or will i just keep falling into the abyss? Can't wait to find out. What is it they say about cats and curiosity?

   Meow.
