Diablo 3 - battle of the sexes

I really am impressed that whatever character you play from the 5 classes, they all have a unique story and are all voice acted for both male and female versions. I didn't know this before starting and it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. I love my female monk voiced by Rajia Baroudi and her anecdotes and commentary on monk life and reactions to the world around her. I've just started Act 2 of the game, each act starting with beautifully drawn semi animated pictures and narrated by one of the 10 protagonist voice actors with 5 variations depending on class. I actually want to play through this game 5 times to get every individual story told to me. The only question being, who should narrate? Male or female? Well through the power of youtube i was able to see every ACT 1 animated narration for both genders. My choices are completely subjective but are not gender biased (as the results shall attest). I don't care if i'm playing male or female, it's the FEEL i'm going for. As there's no preview really of the voice of the character on selection,  only the individual look (which is quite impressively varied) from class to class, gender to gender. Maybe you can use these suggestions as a guide or do what i did, the youtube thing. I'll provide links for the ones i liked most.

1st Playthrough as i said is the female Monk voiced by Rajia Baroudi. Very glad i picked her. Almost sounds like Cassandra Pentaghast from Dragon Age. Kinda Transylvanian BLAR BLAR. Not a prolific resume but who cares, she's great.

I should probably alternate with a male voice for my next playthrough (which is what lead to this experiment). So i think next up will be...
The male Demon Hunter voiced by Robin Atkin Downes. Previous credits include George Washington in Assassin's Creed 3 and currently in Telltale's Game of Thrones as Duncan Tuttle. He sounds suitably haunted by his past more than his female version IMO.

Edit: female Demon Hunter is voiced by Laura Bailey. I'm currently watching her on Geek & Sundry in the RPG show Titansgrave: The Ashes Of Valkana. Highly recommend. She also does an awesome job as Fetch in Infamous Second Son.

BTW this isn't in any particular order. I have no idea, gameplay wise how different these characters will be from each other.

Next, we're back to the ladies with...
The female Witch Doctor voiced by Erica Luttrell. Maybe it's my days of playing Monkey Island or watching Pirates Of The Caribbean that did it but she just sounds right. Not that Carl Lumbly (of ALIAS fame) isn't good, it's just got a flavor to the accent that makes me think female fits best. She also did a tonne of voices for Dragon Age Origins so extra points for that.

Switching back to male we have...
The male Barbarian voiced by Dorian Harewood. This guy's resume is impressive. Hell of a lot of voice acting and live action acting including being in 2 of my favourite films of all time. The 1997 remake of 12 Angry Men, and Full Metal Jacket! He lends a sturdy gruff voice that the female actress doesn't go for at all, opting for an accent that i wasn't big on and sounded a bit too much like the Monk i'm currently playing. A pity as i'm a bit of a fan of the SAW franchise and she's voiced by Athena Karkanis who played Agent Perez in part 4 and 6 (as well as a small scene in Repo! The Genetic Opera). Harewood brings it and i can't wait to play as his character.

So now we come to the Wizard. Who will win this battle of the sexes?
You might be disappointed but i was happy to announce it's a tie, even stephen. Seriously, i didn't skew my results to end up this way, promise. Both Grey Griffin and Crispin Freeman give a great and unique performance, while saying EXACTLY THE SAME LINES!

Grey Griffin has a VERY impressive career having voiced Catwoman and Vikki Vale in the Batman Arkham games, and Azula in Avatar The Last Airbender. Also, what a name !
Female Wizard by Grey Griffin

Crispin Freeman has a lot of credits in anime and seems to be the go to guy for Orlando Bloom's voice double in videogames as either the characters Will Turner or Legolas. He's also Firefly from Arkham Origins and the upcoming Arkham Knight.
Male Wizard by Crispin Freeman

They both do a smashing job of not over doing the pomposity while giving it a mystic, intelligent, and slight privileged air, as a wizard should.

So there's my list! What do you think? Feel free to tell me. And what's your favourite class to play gameplay wise or even story/character wise? Let me know.
